Many business owners assume that having a website will make people fly to their product or service. And unfortunately many web designers and developers create a website without offering a guide. This is a little faulty to say the least if a website will be any profit to your business.

When you are trying to create your online presence, you need to be aware that marketing applies to your website just as it does the other parts of your business. I’ve heard it best say that some people consider their website to be an expensive version of a business card!

If your web designer knows what they’re doing, your website will be curated to reaching the needs of your audience and anticipating their questions.

This is what I help my clients with. I want to make sure that I walked them step-by-step to what needs to be included on their website. Yes, you can get a Wix site and make it your own. You can even put your own custom pictures, but you don’t have that guided experience of a designer that’s going to know the ins-and-outs of how the website should flow to be good for your business. A good web designer will help you clarify what content is worth putting on your site.

If you don’t have a call to action on your site, stop what you’re doing right now and put an actionable step on your website for your website visitors to take advantage of. And, I’m sure you remember how small children asked for things over and over again. Take a cue from them and offer your service or your product to your website visitor who is a potential client.

A website shouldn’t just be about how awesome you are or your services. Obviously, you are amazing at what you do, but the website should focus on serving the needs of the customer. They want to hear about themselves and how you can help their issues.

Often times I see people offer up their whole background story on their homepage before they even discuss what they are offering to the client. This will not result in visitor to customer conversions.

So many other factors go into excellent website marketing, but the biggest success you can actionably make is creating a clear path for your customers on how to do business with you in a friendly and welcoming way.
